We were privileged to attend The Racing Together Industry Day 2024 which took place on February 8th at Chester Racecourse, an event which brought together racing enthusiasts, professionals and advocates. Haddon Training Racing Team Leader and former jockey, Michael Legg, attended the exciting one-day event. Michael says,

“It was incredibly interesting to hear about the ongoing projects across the industry to increase community engagement with racing. Both yard based and non-yard based racing apprenticeships have an important role to play in helping to develop this community engagement, and it was great to discuss ideas with representatives from many racing organisations.”

Thirteen speakers, each with unique insights, discussed how racing goes beyond the track to make a positive impact. Emphasising the industry’s commitment to social responsibility and charitable causes. Representatives from a range of organisations gathered, including twenty-four charities, eighteen racecourses and three regulatory bodies – an incredible turnout that showcased the collaborative spirit in the racing community.

Thank you to Racing Together and Chester Racecourse for organising such a crucial event which showcased the vital work being carried out within the racing industry and the positive impact this is having across communities.
