Meet Level 3 Team Leader Apprentice and Dressage Rider, Robyn.

Meet Robyn, who is currently completing her Level 3 Team Leader apprenticeship at Judy Harvey Dressage. Robyn tells us how she started out in the equine world, her apprenticeship experience so far, and her future goals.

What motivated / inspired you to want to work with horses?

I have always loved horses from a young age, my grandad took myself and my sister for our first riding lesson when we were three years-old and he thought it would be a one off, but twenty-two years later I am still loving horses! My career in dressage was inspired by the London 2012 Olympics. Watching riders like Carl Hester and Charlotte Dujardin display such harmony and partnership with their horses was breath-taking. It motivated me to push my limits and strive for greater achievements in the sport.

What is an accomplishment you are proudest of so far?

My competition career so far! When I started working for Judy Harvey back in 2018 I had little to no dressage experience, so I had to work really hard to improve my riding to get an opportunity to compete a horse. I have been competing a client’s horse for a few years now, and we are now at medium level which I am really proud of.

How have you found doing an apprenticeship with Haddon Training?

Haddon training is extremely organised which I love! My Trainer Coach, Darren, has been so helpful and supportive in my training sessions and explains everything in a way that I find easy to understand.

What are your hopes for the future?

I hope to continue with my competition career and see how far I can take it and I am also looking forward to putting the new skills I have learned on my Level 3 Team Leader apprenticeship into practice, and becoming a more developed yard manager and groom.
