Meet Level 3 Senior Equine Groom, Gabriel

Meet Gabriel, who is currently completing his Level 3 Senior Equine Groom apprenticeship through Haddon Training at CBH Equestrian. Gabriel shares insights into his journey, experiences, and future aspirations in the equestrian world.

What inspired you to pursue a career working with horses?

My family played a significant role, even though none of them are particularly “horsey.” My mum introduced me to horses at a young age and she would take me out hacking on moor ponies and Shetlands. Additionally, my cousin had a huge influence on my career choice by providing me with a deeper and more comprehensive insight into the world of show jumping.

What aspects of your Level 3 Senior Groom qualification have you enjoyed the most and working at CBH Equestrian?

I’ve enjoyed the opportunities it has provided and the chance to connect with incredible people. Both the apprenticeship and my time at CBH Equestrian have allowed me to build a network within the equestrian community.

What achievement are you most proud of to date?

While I don’t have a single specific achievement that stands out, I take great pride in making a positive impact on the improvement and progression of the horses we work with.

What has your experience been like as an apprentice with Haddon Training?

I’ve really enjoyed my apprenticeship with Haddon Training. It’s been both highly informative and engaging, providing a great balance of learning and interaction.

What are your aspirations for the future?

In an ideal world, I aspire to continue show jumping and work my way up to competing at the highest levels of the sport.
