Meet Phoebe, who is currently completing her Level 2 Dog Groomer apprenticeship through Haddon Training at Hair of the Dog, Maidstone. Phoebe shares her apprenticeship experience, the support she has received from her Trainer Coach, and her future goals in grooming.
What motivated and inspired you to pursue a career working with animals?
I’ve always loved dogs, and working with them has been a fantastic experience. I enjoy seeing all the different breeds and learning more about them through hands-on work.
How does your Trainer Coach support you?
My Trainer Coach has been incredibly helpful. I love the practical assessments where we discuss grooming techniques in-depth. Our online Teams meetings are also great for diving deeper into specific topics, and I learn so much from those sessions.
What has been the most enjoyable part of your apprenticeship?
I’ve really enjoyed all the practical work in the salon, especially learning new grooming techniques and working with different breeds. I also love when an owner likes a certain style which is a bit different from the normal cuts.
Once you have completed your apprenticeship, what are your plans for the future?
After my apprenticeship, I want to continue growing my skills and training there to become the best groomer I can be.
