Meet Wilf, who has recently started his Level 2 Animal Care and Welfare Assistant apprenticeship at The Country Mutt Dog Day Care! From growing up surrounded by animals to making a career change, he reflects on his passion for animal care, his experiences so far, and his excitement for what’s ahead.
“Hi I’m Wilf and I’ve recently started my apprenticeship at The Country Mutt.
I grew up in the Stroud area and have always loved the countryside scenery and being outdoors. I’ve spent my life surrounded by animals, growing up with a labradoodle and a sprocker spaniel plus many other dogs, aswell as a cat and multiple hamsters. I have always had a love for animals!
Starting this apprenticeship is a real change in career for me but I am having more fun and enjoyment than ever before. I am extremely excited to kick start my career in dog care!
My free time is usually spent either walking, playing games on my computer and also working on the computer itself or cooking. My most recent free time venture has been planting up my garden with veggies for this summer, any gardening tips are more than welcome!
