We're immensely proud of our heritage within equine and animal care training and this remains a key focus of our business.
Haddon Training was established in 1997 by Founder Chris Hewlett. Previously specialising in the breeding of racing and competition horses, Chris understood the importance of developing his staff’s skills and knowledge. He recognised that high-quality training was crucial in supporting his team and enabling their subsequent progression in the industry. He created Haddon Training with the vision of enabling more people access to the professional training needed to care for horses, and to raise the training standards within the equine industry.
Haddon Training has since grown into a national, multi-sector training provider, with an outstanding reputation in delivering equine, animal care and business qualifications across England and Wales. In 2021 Haddon Training became part of the Educ8 Group, enabling it to expand and grow further than ever before, and Haddon Training now also provides a range of alternative educational opportunities for individuals who face challenges in conventional academic settings.
Our incredible staff are paramount to the success of our organisation; all our Trainer Coaches are experienced through working in their specialist sector and are trained to meet the educational needs of employers and learners. Many of our equine and animal care staff continue to engage in their industries through involvement in competitions, commentating and breeding.
Haddon Training’s equine origins have enabled us to excel within the horse care and animal care industries, establishing us as the preferred apprenticeship provider for renowned organisations including British Showjumping and British Eventing, who we work closely with to deliver our bespoke Apprenticeship in Equestrian Sporting Excellence (AESE).
Our racing qualifications are approved and supported by The British Horseracing Authority (BHA) and include the Certificate of Competence in the Welfare of Transporting Horses for short journeys; ensuring that aspiring individuals receive the necessary training and education to support them in every aspect of their career within the racing industry.
Our animal care division is continuously growing and diversifying, offering our learners and employers exciting opportunities to enhance their education and upholding the welfare of animals. We believe that work-based learning is imperative to successful careers, and these qualifications are designed to immerse individuals in practical, real-world experiences, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of animal care.
Haddon Training’s business division supports a wide range of companies, including those in equine and animal care looking to broaden their knowledge in areas including Customer Service and Team Leading. We also provide a horseracing specific Business Administration qualification for those looking to pursue a racing career off the racetrack. Our focus is on developing these essential skills to help expand companies and allow their staff to meet their full business potential.
Our commitment also extends beyond skills development in the workplace. We aspire for individuals to not only gain job-specific skills and knowledge but also to thrive in all aspects of their lives, by providing the necessary space and encouragement for them to build self-confidence and establish independence.
