We love find out more about our Learners and this week we caught up with Rebecca Hugh.

Rebecca is completing her Racehorse Care Level 2 at Johnny Farrelly Racing. With over 40 horses in training there is always a lot going on to keep Rebecca and her team busy.

How long have you worked for Johnny Farrelly Racing?
I have worked here for just over a year, but started full time in June 2018.

Why did you choose an apprenticeship rather than college?
I chose this as I enjoy learning on the job instead of in a classroom and found that an apprenticeship allows you to learn the physical aspect of the job in more depth.

What do you like and dislike about your apprenticeship?
One of the things I find challenging is the long days, they can get very tiring. However, seeing the horses happy and bringing back the results makes it all worth it.

What are you looking forward to in 2019?
I am most looking forward to continuing working with the horses and hoping they bring back more great results. I am also excited to hopefully pass my course with distinction!

If, like Rebecca you are interested in a career win racing then get in touch to find out more about our current vacancies.
