The categories and criteria for the Haddon Training British Grooms Awards 2016 are:

The Haddon Training British Grooms Award

Open to all grooms in the equestrian industry working in the UK; those working in competition yards, riding schools, welfare centres, trekking centres and studs will be equally eligible and can include self-employed and full-time grooms. A runners up Award will also be given in this category.

The Winner's Prize: Two complimentary tickets to the British Breeders Awards Dinner in London, £350 cash prize, engraved trophy, branded winners softshell gilet, two nights dinner, bed & breakfast at a selected UK country inn hotel and a years standard membership to the BGA.

The Runners Up Prize: Two complimentary tickets to the British Breeders Awards Dinner in London, £150 cash prize, engraved trophy, a branded runners up softshell gilet and a years standard membership to the BGA.

The Haddon Training British Equestrian Team Grooms Award

Who, in the opinion of the judging panel, has made an outstanding contribution as a groom who supported any Equestrian Team athlete at the Rio Olympic and Paralympic Games 2016 in the following disciplines:- Dressage, Eventing, Showjumping and Para-Equestrian Dressage.

The Winner's Prize: Two complimentary tickets to the British Breeders Awards Dinner in London, £250 cash prize, engraved trophy, branded winners softshell gilet, a city weekend break at The Grange City Hotel, London and a years standard membership to the BGA.

The Haddon Training Yard Manager Award

Must have a minimum of 5 years working in the Equine industry in the UK, with 2 years working as a commercial manager.

The Winner's Prize: Two complimentary tickets to the British Breeders Awards Dinner in London, £250 cash prize, engraved trophy, a branded winners softshell gilet and a years standard membership to the BGA.

The Haddon Training Apprentice Award

Must be a Horse Care apprentice and can only be nominated by their employer. The apprentice must be on their apprenticeship programme for a minimum of 9 months and can still be nominated for another 6 months after completion. The judges will need supporting evidence from their training provider to confirm they are in-learning/ have completed their apprenticeship.

The Winner's Prize: Two complimentary tickets to the British Breeders Awards Dinner in London, £100 cash prize, engraved trophy, branded winners softshell gilet, one week placement at a top equestrian yard and a years standard membership to the BGA.

The awards will be presented at the annual British Breeders’ Awards Dinner, hosted and organised by the British Horse Foundation in London on 14 January 2017, Grange City Hotel, London EC3N 2BQ
